The new Pig Destroyer album, Phantom Limb

Yaaay or nay? I just heard the entire thing and imo it's the best metal album released so far this year. It's really good as long as you can accept the changes Pig Destroyer put into the album. I think how the vocalist changed for the album is really cool! Others will find the guitar sound changes "death metal sounding". Any opinions?

Definitely yaaay. I'm pretty new to PD though, so its more like adding to an already great pile of metal so far this year.

I guess its because they're not true grind really but... I can't get into grind in general, when its on a CD. I can only really appreciate grind when its live. But for Phantom Limb, thats one exception.

I fuckin' love it man.

The vocals are haunting and the guitar riffs are basic but brutal.

Just something to kick ass too.

Pig Destoryer always reminded me of a better version of Norma Jean (Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child ) days.

I haven't even checked the band out yet. As long as the band doesn't sing about dungeons/dragons I should be able to like them
