Is AWFUL. Synthesized watered down goth metal. Reing of Crap. What the fuck happened? Passage and Eternal were both amazing albums, that proved synthesizers and drum machines can make for excellent metal. This is just awful.

When you review it, give it 1's. There is exactly one good song- track 10 Heliotrope. And its not exactly that good.

I never heard Samael's pre-Ceremony of Opposites material, but I kinda always wondered what was so special with this band. I liked CoO, and Passage was good, but I don't think it deserves "classic" status.

Ah I love Eternal, and I frankly dislike that style of music. It just fits so well, the production, the atmosphere, the vocals, keyboards, everything. But if done poorly like in Reign of Light, it is the most unbearable tripe ever.
You know I figured out why I love Eternal so much. Eternal is what it sounds like if that damn synthesized dance/techno/goth music that is so fucking popular in Europe, was finally mixed with death metal; and done well. yep thats it.
thats too bad. eternal is pretty good(good for sexing at least)

I can't understand how you can consider this watered down cheesy goth synth crap, and NOT the same for eternal and passage. Its not that huge of a step away, dude. Its still heavy, and thats what I like about it, and also for pretty much the exact reason you love Eternal and Passage so much-- The sound. You may consider the music lame, thats fine, I'm sure they've been losing more and more fans of their previous days with each album, since they're progressing their sound. Also it reminds me of Rammstein, a band I really enjoy, which falls basically under the same category of sound and style. The music is fun, I think its written well, I have no reason not to like it.
Thats cool man, I am glad you like it. I was just wondering is all. I personally was just really let down- incurring me to start this thread.
