I've lurked here for a while and just finally joined. I've been listening to metal since the first time I heard Maiden's Number of the Beast the week it came out. Went through the birth of thrash & death metal all the way up to today. I'm 38 and still love it just as much as I did on day 1. I'm also a rabid metal magazine collector and my musical tastes go all over the place.
I play guitar and bass and have a home studio where I crank out my own originals every few weeks for fun. I have no interest in "making it" because the music business is just a bunch of scumbags getting rich off people who are simply following their dreams.
