I am the guitarist/songwriter in a Portland OR based Progressive Death Metal (?) (ugh i hate genres) band called The Odious. We have recently parted ways with our first drummer and we need a new one so we can start planning a NW tour. We are all music nerds in general and we love incorporating all kinds of sounds into our style. So we would need a drummer proficient in technical death metal, along with jazz, funk, latin, rock, and any other style that you might think of. Yes I realize that is a mighty tall order but we do not want to settle. This is my first time using a forum so forgive me for any breaching of unwritten forum etiquette on my behalf.
Also if any body has any ideas as to how to find great drummers, be sure to chime in. Oh and our influences, to name a few, are Opeth, The Red Chord, the Faceless, The Mars Volta, Intronaut, Meshuggah and Cephalic Carnage
