The old Metallica is back?

James still sings like he is at a Kareoke bar.

The last few albums he sounds like he is reading someone elses lyrics for the first time on a live mic.

Thats the main thing that bothers me.

Even Load and Re-Load sounded fine even though the music changed.

There's no more intensity. It sounds fake instead of from the heart.

I could live with the boring country metal riffs if at least James could put some strength back into the vocals.

It sounds a bit more promising than St. Anger but I think I am still going to be dissappointed.

If Max Cavalera can still sounds as brutal as ever, I am sure James can pull something off.

Better snare than the St Anger one.

Pffff.. i hear one rock song in there, and i really think they should stick to that instead of trying to please the metal crowd with low tuned guitars and double kick.

I mean, load and re-load kind of songs just seem more fitting... they are getting older, nothing wrong with that.. but i really don't like older people trying to stay metal at all costs just to please the fans or a certain crowd.

Back to songs like "fuel" and "mama said" i say!

But uhm.. yeah, it sounded pretty good though. ;)

It sounds better than what I've heard the last 15 years but there is absolutely no hunger.

I 100% agree with this. There's no agression in James' voice anymore. I'd rather hear a genuine Load pt. 3 rather than a fake attempt at writing heavy stuff.

I really want to love this album but I'm expecting to be disappointed.

I guess they've decided metal is cool again. The ball has been picked up by other bands long ago and thrown light years past where they last dropped it.

Should be good for a few laughs.

My God! The shit is loading slow, but it's killing me when I hit play. I remember hearing No Leaf Clover and Minus Human from their S&M show and thinking to myslef "this is good, I hope the new album is like this". St Anger wasn't, this obviously won't be either. That first song sounded like absolute crap. The sencond one....we'll see. It wasn't as bad, but still not great.
