I would have mentioned this earlier, but thanks! My mate is an apprentice chef at the moment and the conversations we've had are amazing. It always makes me think about the AE side of work and so on and is SO alike it's not even funny! Good times 
Three of my best high school friends went to gastronomy college because of Kitchen Confidential (althought they won´t confess). Now one is a drummer, one is a painter (artist) and the other is a promoter. 2 years of real life work on a kitchen was enough for all of them to give up.
But I gotta admit that I love having close friends that cook awesome stuff for me.
