The Recording Revolution

I follow that guy on twitter. Jon tidey (audiogeekzine), ryan conestro (thehomerecordingshow), randy coppinger, rob sommerfelt, creat music pro and i forget the others name but he has a website about microphones.. all have some good tips on twitter or run a website.

Nice... thank you for the other names, I'll look for them. He's doing a thing called 5 minutes to a better mix II, a series of 31 short videos with tips, triks, etc. Very good stuff.

I've seen a few of the videos from this whilst on twitter and they have been really cool. picked up some little things that made me go "Why didn't I think of this before, it's so simple"

Definitely need to go over the whole series.

One that helped me recently was the one about depth with EQ. IMO, it really shows how important is to work things on the mix, instead of soloing stuff. I had this perfect sparkly clean guitars here, that sounded perfect soloed, but on the mix, I couldn't get them to sit... it was too much on the front and if I lower the volume, it was too low. I lowered the LP... bam: it worked. Great resource.

+1! I've watched the depth eq video today and the tip was just pure gold. The only thing I hate about those videos (apart from them being videos, but at least one sees and hears the differences) is that you have to skip about 2 minutes of the videos to get to the point :)

Yeah I've been watchin the videos this month too and there's some cool tips in there.
