just thought id mention that Sir Paul, of Di'Anno, will be performing on an English stage for the first time in around 10 long bloody years at Pennington's Live, Bradford, on Thursday 13th March.

*finds a place at the bar until the Lucazade appears*

achtoooooolie, me 'n Meatball will both hopefully be taking compact digital video cams in...
i can smuggle mine in down my jeans, i just look a trifle aroused when doing so.
(nothing new there then)
*hmm, i feel a 'trade' coming on..*

btw, do you know what Di'Anno says at the end of Phantom of'...its been bugging me for a few years now..
ttfn.

As much as I love the Paul Dianno-era Iron Maiden, does anyone besides me notice he seems to be stuck in 1982? He seems to need to use constant references to his time in Maiden, such as calling his band "Killers" , calling his book "The Beast," releasing albums such as "Beyond the Maiden" and "The Return of the Iron Men," not to mention his continual re-recording of Iron Maiden classics. Thing is, his non-Maiden solo stuff is pretty good, so why the constant flashbacks? Comments?

er, maybe its cos' thats what hes famous for?
hmmm,
*im famous for being the original singer in Maiden, maybe i should release a book about flower pressing'*
somehow i dont think it would work,...do you?
next you will be saying that todays Maiden should record an album of gospel songs or became a 'pan-pipe' band.
HE WAS IN MAIDEN, HE SINGS MAIDEN SONGS LIVE...IF HE DIDNT SING MAIDEN SONGS LIVE IM SURE YOU WOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT..P.S., I DONT KNOW WHY I HAVE MY CAPS-LOCK ON, MAYBE IM SHOUTING...

No, I didn't mean to imply he should not play his Maiden stuff live or that I was complaining. I think that I, like most, would absolutely expect it. And I, like everybody else, still buy his stuff. I am just saying he has been out of Maiden for 20+years and his stuff shouldn't all make references to his Maiden time. Bruce didn't do it when he was out of Maiden. I mean, Paul calling his book "The Beast" is kind of a reference, IMO, to "Number of the Beast" which is an album he wasn't even on. Sorry, didn't mean to sound like I was bitching. This has just always puzzled me because I like his non-Maiden stuff too.

I got's to agree with Sparky and I'm listening to Paul's Nomad. Great song, but Bruce didn't write a book called, "The Places of The Nomad". They were both in Maiden as was Blaze, but he seems to be gettin' on with things, quite admirably(sp?). IMO. So what's up with Paul? Just a little, I think he can't resist the teptation of the publicity of being the "first" Maiden singer. I love those albums more than a lot of the 90's Maiden, so don't get me wrong. He's probably just hurting for dough and sees a good thing, but hey, it's still commercialism.

Actually to the contrary, it's the opposite of what you think. Paul wants nothing to do with maiden. In fact, he even sold his rights on his attachment to maiden, for almost nothing. The reason for all the names & titles being similar has to do with money, even to the extent of getting a contract. His book titled the Beast is really nothing to do with the song NOB, rather it's him being one crazy wild mother fucker (when he's piss-ass drunk). Sober, he's a nice dude. If you read his book the Beast, he goes into great detail on all this. Whether you believe everything in the book or not is up to you. I'd recommend reading the book if your a big maiden/dianno fan. I enjoyed it.

Lucozade ? Last time we were there you drank 'em clean out of Vodka ........ well with a little help from me perhaps *blush*

Lets just hope they don't play too many "accoustic" numbers to promote the new album of accoustic maiden songs that the big D is currently recording. And that he is not as scary as his web site photo makes out.

chin chin

indeed Meatball....isnt it strange that all women look atractive when we drink vodka...*tries to remember*
..i watched the footie today....'oh-dear-oh-dear...'

i wonder if the big D still has Bruce Willis as his drummer or not?
