I'm not a huge fan of the Stones, but I wasn't going to pass up on a free show...
The show was great... it's amazing how much energy Mick Jagger has onstage.. The highlight though, was the female singer on "Gimme Shelter." Damn! that chick had a set of lungs! And, of course, the other highlight, was Bill Clinton introducing the Stones, and talking about Global Warming...
A couple of complaints... the sound was WAY TOO LOW... there was an obnoxious bastard behind me, who was either drunk or on his very first concert, because he kept screaming "look at Mick!" and "Ronnie Wood!"... hehehe I got my revenge though... he dropped his Stones pendant... and I didn't return it...
ok... off to bed

 Is that the little tongue and lips with the flickering light? Man, they made a fortune off those things!!!!! I thought Mr. Clinton might make a special appearance playing alongside Mr. Bobby Keys! Glad you had a good time. I admit they do put on a good show!

Didn't see the show, but saw some highlights on the news. I thought it was funny that the cause and purpose of the show was all about promoting "global heating awareness," but the performance of the show itself was contributing to global heating. :p

we got a little flyer at the entrance saying that the show was "Climate Cool"
and a little explanation of what that meant... apparently the NRDC bought clean burning energy for the power and lighting and the transportation of the band and crew, which more than made up for what pollution the show caused....

That's smart that they did that because they'll be subject to bashing from people like me...hehehe. On a similar subject, maybe they can do something about reinstating Californians of having the option to buy "clean" energy. One of the companys I used to do this with was/is called Green Mountain Energy (www.greenmountain.com). I used to buy their energy until about 2 years ago (about same time of the energy crises) only to find out that they couldn't sell to California anymore (go to their website and you find out it's still true). Doesn't make sense to me. Although it might make sense if you put political crooks in the picture. ahhh...Gray Davis ring any bells? I've not heard one "good" reason as to why we can't buy it. The only reason I ever hear is that it is due to "regulatory changes." What a bunch of crap. Get somebody in office that can fix that. This ain't rocket science.

Since your saying NRDC bought clean burning energy to support the show that was in "California," I'm wondering where they got it? It doesn't appear to be Green Mountain.

Interesting. Seems like some of the info was misleading, however not bad. It appears to me that the concert itself still used non-green energy, however it did purchase/donate to the building of windmills which in turn will offset what it used. In any case, their cause is well taken. Here's a quote from their website "By collaborating with NativeEnergy, NRDC helped build new wind farms to offset pollution created as a result of the concert and achieve a net-zero impact on the climate."
