the story of anvil

Would love to see it, but I guess I've got to wait til this hits DVD...

I've only got the "Metal On Metal" album, but that's pretty cool.

Heard though that they're trying a bit too hard in certain scenes to make this look like the real-life version of Spinal Tap.

Yeah, your house will get raided if you download it.

Yeah I'm wondering about that. Are they going after the downloaders as well or just that one guy because he uploaded it to his rapidshare account?

He was stupid to do that, though. The night before the release, he UPLOADS it to a huge service like rapidshare.

maybe depends it had a huge screen for a screening here

i will see maiden tour on the big screen - friday night at 9pm

ok

Anybody else seen it? I've recently seen it on DVD and after all the positive reactions, I was fairly disappointed.
Some 50 year old guys whining because they didn't become famous rock stars some 30 years ago?! Ridiculous movie in my opinion.
I mean, that's just how it is. If you can't make a living with your music, you gotta keep a day-time job. That doesn't need to detain you from making music. There are thousands of bands who don't make a living with their music and now one of them steps forward to show everyone how pitiful their lives are.. Oh man... I think I'm starting to cry!.. It's sad, but maaaaaaaaaybe (well I can't say for sure because I'm not a fan) the band members should just face the truth and acknowledge that their music was not THAT much of a big hit.
I feel like they just want to make me feel sorry for them.. Now I'm gonna buy all of their records and go to all of their shows..! haha (Smart marketing... ;))

whoose's better them or metallica, bet you quess wrong. anyway i have seen the trailer its shit....losers will love it.

When the hell did they make a movie about me?!

And yes, movie is great.

pretty great movie. like troy said, funny, touching and depressing all at once.

the funniest parts are the unbelievable parallels drawn to spinal tap.

Yeah I thought it was a good movie and I enjoyed it for the most part but I was never really a fan of their music, I imagine it would be a lot more hard hitting and intense if I was really a fan of them.

I enjoyed the movie.. however it was a bit hyped. My opinion of the band is that they might have some good 80's stuff ( have heard mostly Metal on metal stuff) but they were maybe too eager and spewed out albums almost every year or every other year ( and yeah maybe they should have been a bit more successful and were unlucky). Sometimes they seem full of metal cliches musicwise and might have just repeat themselves too often: Same sound, similar themes( I am forming this opinion from the limited stuff I've heard and seen + the movie, so this might be prejudiced...) resulting in lack of interest. I've heard some never stuff by them; too slow paced + bad lyrics.

Lips Kudlow seems like a cool dude but sometimes too naive, dramatic and craving for others to acknowldge him.

Rob The "the Edge" Reiner, the drummer sounded more sensible to me and seemed annoyed by Kudlow's over-enthusiasm, temper & all or nothing thinking.
