The Way of All Flesh Bass...

Just sounds really grindy. The simple two track split one hp'd with distortion/lp'd with extreme compression could work. I honestly don't get the fappery over this album :\

Gojira's From Mars to Sirius gave me chub enough.... this album....

i know the bassist uses Fender J/P bass, with pick, and i'm pretty sure SWR amps and cabs... beyond that i'm afraid i'm as useful as a chocolate fire-guard

A lot of the low-end duties are relegated to the kick on this record. The bass is just holding down that little gap in the midbass and low-mids that's between the kick and guitar. There is a bit of grind in there, but nothing overly prominent. If heard solo'd I very much doubt it would sound very impressive - it's mostly just the perspective of a good mix.

Playing a downtuned ESP 5-string through an Ampeg rig mixed with a thick layer of distortion from a guitar amp = More fun than anal with Elisabeth Hurley.

Good enough for me!

Which frequencies aprox in HP and LP ¿?

I don't know for sure, I was just assuming that's how it was done. I usually separate the tracks at about 150hz. I know some people make three, adding a separation around 80hz to control the subbass.

Playing the bass can be fun but a lot of bands just leave it as something to beef up the guitar sound, I like it when bands use it more as a separate instrument and you can hear it instead of it being left in the background as a fuzzy noise.

+1 muckypup

I really like the basssounds of Gojira.
Fender Preci played with a pick in a Ampeg fucking rules.

Oh and there are many women I would prefer over Elizabeth Hurley...
