The White Stripes- Talented or Not?

I am wondering what everyone thinks about the White Stripes musically? I think these two are some of the worst musicians Ive ever heard, and I was shocked when reading a newsweek article that mentioned WHite's sblime guitar playing. I think a 8 year old would be a better drummer than his ex wife. However, I also admit they write some insanely catchy tunes, the bass line on seven nation army is perfect- in a rolling stones type of way. So, are they merely decent songwriters, or are they total hacks? I cant decide.

The White Stripes are one of my favourite non-metal bands, actually. So yeah, I'd have to say they were talented. I like the guy's voice. I have to admit that he's not the sort of bluesman who sounds like he was taught to play by Satan, but it works. As for Meg (I think that's her name): she does her job. I've got no complaints.

I absolutely despise them. The only bands I hate more are Korn and Incubus.

The White Stripes are the worst band to ever exist. I have thought about this a lot in the past, and I could think of no other band that was worse.
