Today celebrates the 18th anniversary of the great lead singer, Phil Lynott in his death. Keep Phils spirit alive on there upcoming tour this summer... Rest In Peace Black Rose.
Wished dude would have lived to hear Metallica do Whisky...
What a fuckin' tribute to the guy(even though he didn't write the song). Don't you think? Regardless of what you might think of Metallica these days.

I hear ya! That was a very cool tribute to Phill. MAYBE by Metallica doing a tribute, it will open the doors of the Lizzy legend, to the "young'ens" now at days.
What well written classics "The Boys are Back in Town" & "Jail Break."
Great fuckin' tracks. I don't think they get played enough on classic rock radio in America!
I was in Toronto in 1992 on that date and the radio I was tuned in was interviewing Scott Gorham remembering the 6th anniversary of Philo's departure.
I was about to go to sleep and I kept myself awake throughout the whole program, hearing music, the interviewed an deeply touched by the fact that Thin Lizzy will never exist again (yes I know the band that is playing with the same moniker around, but I call them Tribute Lizzy ).
I was never able to see TL alive. I will never be mesmerized by Lynnot's magic when in the middle of a song he screams Are you there? Let me know you are out there! Let yourselves go!
A words from the man himself in his memory:
"If you see my mother
Please give her all of my love
For she has a heart of gold there
As good as God above
If you see my mother
Tell her I'm keeping fine
Tell her that I love her
And I'll try and write sometime"
