This Holy Book Is Full of Appaling Violence!

Having read the dumb book called the Bible I knew he was reading from said book on the very first quote. So I skipped ahead to confirm my guess and stopped watching the video. No shit it's a violent piece of shit book just like Islam and it's stupid violent book called the Qur'an/Quran. Congrats, you can read and compare. However, though not non existent in Christianity, a lot more violence is done by believers in the name of Islam/Quran these days. I could be wrong, but when was the last time you saw Christians going on a killing spree over a cartoon? I can't think of a time in my life. Maybe I missed it? As far as I'm aware, and correct me if I'm wrong, there is no Christian theocracy.

Anyways, all religions are absurd and full of shit. For some reason the majority of us stupid monkey men can't figure this out. :Smokedev:

Yeah, people regardless of their religious views can be subject to schizophrenia. Anders Behring Breivik is a recent christian example; There have been books written on christian and hindu terrorism - Gunpower Plot, KKK, Lord's Army Resistance, Saffron Terror and what have you. There are evidences of buddhist terrorism in Thailand, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Tibet and even Japan. Unfortunately the western media aren't interested in these because... well... it aint about them. And that's okay. You don't see much of non-Islamic terrorism in the west nowadays, or do you? It's really interesting to observe and evaluate the socio-political environments of these "religious sects gone rogue". They're angry individuals born born in violence and bloodshed.

I, like you, condemn these attacks and can't make much sense of violence over cartoons. However, there are people who can manage to justify themselves and to some of us, they aren't unfamiliar. We know they exist and it surprises me no one saw it coming, considering how they've reacted the last time when something similar was published. And that's another thing that does not make sense to me. How can they feel safe playing around with people's sentiments without having state-of-the-art security? It's analogous to a naked human poking a bee hive.

Unfortunately, it's a beehive that has to be poked IMO. The only other option is to go the cowards rout. People should be able to express themselves how they see fit, no matter how butt hurt other people get. I don't have to agree with you but I will fight for your right to express yourself freely, so long as that expression doesn't physically harm someone.

And will your government provide the security or will you hire a privatized and militarized security firm or some shit like that? :loco:

Edit:
I understand what you mean by saying the beehive's got to be poked. But not definitely when the person poking it is naked.

All religions have the potential to lead to awful acts of violence, but I think it's pretty obvious to people who aren't tip-toeing around the issue that there is something about the way modern Islam is practiced and structured that facilitates more acts of violence on a more frequent basis than any other religion. It seems difficult to me to separate the politics from the religion, however, so it's unfair to blame "Islam"- more appropriately, we should blame a combination of certain Islamic public figures and politicians and criminals in bed with those public figures. Pakistan is the best example of this to my mind. But it definitely is a problem in a way that it isn't for Christianity or (mostly, save for Myanmar) Buddhism, and I'm not sure non-Muslims should be criticized for saying that.

For fuck sake - problem is not in religion but in people exploiting it for their needs or justification.

I think that I'm atheist, but mostly I just don't give a fuck about religion.
If people are good and have their religion just to give meaning to their lives, it's all grate by me. I have Islamic buddy from Egypt (live in Turkey) and he has view of Islam that actually looks appealing to me. Islam doesn't approve violence or any kind of harm and those that portray it as such, is not considered as TRUE Islamic believers.
Same was when Christianity went on holly war - meaning behind wasn't spreading religion, but gaining wealth.

Because religion give such big influence on people (giving reason for their life and shit) there are people that use it to push people around, even brainwash.

While the violent types brand the peaceful types as apostates. It's one big mess :loco:

Yay, a No true Scotsman fallacy. Those are always fun. If anything, the violent terrorist is more of a "true" believer. They actually have the balls, for whatever reason, to do what their religious books tell them to do.
