I went to see Get Him to the Greek today (it was funny). One of the, "previews," was an advertisement for the big four (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax) live movie event coming up. Interestingly, they only showed Metallica actually playing. It's not something I'll probably pay to see, but it was interesting to see metal advertised at the movies. Most of you probably know, but this is in reference to the live-by-satellite big four concert in Eastern Europe. It is playing in a few theaters around the states as it happens.

It's probably being advertised in theaters fairly widely, but then again I did see this movie, and thus the advertisement, in San Rafael, CA (I live in the area). This is the home of Metallica HQ, and Lars and James live here too. The theater was about 5 miles from Metallica's HQ.

Yup, the kickoff is this Friday, the whole country has gone football mad, just flags and shirts everywhere you look.
I'm busy working in one of the hotels where some of the teams are booked in and I'm not a soccer fan all but the atmosphere is almost unavoidably contagious.

Even though we call it Soccer in Canada as well, I must defer to the rest of the world, its football. "Soccer" is comprised almost entirely of using your FEET to score goals. In American football, you only kick a ball during select times. And usually they hire a soccer player to do that.

The US just f'ed it up and got it backwards. Sort of like the Republican and Democrat colors.

Cool, thanks, they've send back 10 Argentinians yesterday that were on the "hooligan list" they first flew to Angola I think and then here to try and avoid this, I guess you've gotta be pretty passionate to go through that much trouble. That said about 3000 English fans so far has been denied cause they're hooligans or have a record for violence, that's quite ironic since they probably only wanted to come to get some tips.

Good for the SA authorities. Argentinian hooligans can be as bad or worst than the English counterparts.

Should put an add at the gates of the stadium: Misbehaving fans will be feed to hungry lions. And I know you do have your share of those

What a complete and utter let down. I think they've only showed the second half cause it started off with Slayer and then it was Metallica with Megadeth and Anthrax comming on stage for Am I Evil and then it was all over. I'm pretty sure thats not how it was supposed to be, I think we got screwed ... again
