A monument of black/death metal.

A Satanist with strong convictions, but a man who lived according to what he believed in, should it be seen as good or bad by society.

Show them people in the afterlife what fuckin metal is! :kickass: :kickass: :kickass:

The man drew a ritual pentagram, put candles around, opened a Satanic Bible and shot himself in the head.

According to Satanist practices, this is a ritual performed by someone who sees his destiny fulfilled.

In other words, he was at the top of his shape, physically, mentally, spiritually, and decided to die when, where and how he believed it was best. He died feeling himself complete and in harmony with what he had set himself to be.

Some people may not agree with some of his actions or beliefs, but he was honest and upright.

I'm reading he murdered a homosexual without any reason, what was the deal with his strong convinctions?

On a side note: metal world is full of shit, I'm reading on other metal forums various comments that he killed himself because he finally listened to his last album, or that now he is really a true satanist, everyone is running to listen to his works, also someone is wishing to have a pic of his dead corpse on a sure "best of" album that will be released soon, like with Dead and Mayhem, this, they say, will cause surely a Kvlt album

Yeah well, if you were a black homosexual young man walking in a swedish park at night, I'm pretty sure you wouldn't start flirting with a man bearing a necro expression and wearing a SATAN RULES shirt. I'm not saying it was the guy's fault he got killed, I'm saying he wasn't all that smart doing what he did. Heck he even reached for Jon's saying it looked nice. Don't tease the starving wolf with blood on your arm, if you see what I mean.

This said, yeah, he killed a man. It's a disgusting act. And yes, he would've done it again, given the right situation. He was a murderer, a psychotic guy, and probably an ass in real life, like many other people.

But he was also a great metal musician, talented composer and poet, and he left a huge mark in the metal scene of the laft 10-15 years.

For that, he is worth being remembered.

Dissections first 2 albums are awesome, its a shame Jon did this. I wish they could of just kept making albums, but sometimes destinys have to be fullfilled in one way or another.

RIP- Jon N

"The Satanist decides over his own life and death and prefers to go with a smile on his lips when he has reached his peak in life, when he has accomplished everything, and aim to transcend this earthly existence. But it is completely un-Satanic to end ones own life because one is sad or miserable. The Satanist dies strong, not by age, disease or depression, and he chooses death before dishonor! Death is the orgasm of life! So live life accordingly, as intense as possible!"

who can say to have reached the higher point in his life??? you probably can go higher...or lower who knows, but this is life and i think we must accept it.

I cant really blame the guy, I would probably kill myself too after creating something like Reinkaos.

i found that quite funny mind you. Of course, i mean no disrespect, and even though i might find no fun in his death, i think its dumb when all of a sudden someone is respected or godly just because he is dead.

I'm reading his story thru the net so I didn't know all that details, well, I suppose the homosexual guy was not so cautious to approach him, it's like we say in my county "don't go to steal in robber's house", anyway this case resamble very much to Baard Faust murder, when he killed a homosexual in an Olso bar only because he was approached and got flirted by him, I think back in the 90's was not so safe declare oneself homosexual in Scandinavia :ill: , or at least approach satanic-like person.

As a composer & musician I cannot comment as this belongs to the taste of every people, like for literal authors, football player, other musicians etc. I' ve listened to a little of Dissection but it was times ago and frankly I don't remember it and for sure I won't haste as many to go and listen to his stuff because now it's Kvlt

I'll be sending this little poem I just made to the Dissection website. It some kind of a variation of the theme of Where Dead Angels Lie.

To Jon Nödtveidt

He chose to touch the snow so soon
Giving it a pale teint of red
Under the candles of his dark room
A lifeless sculpture now dead

True to his word along the way
Greeted by the Dark Mother, hailed
She said "Good to see you here tonight"
And on her sweet and dark wines he fed

His spirit is black shining with strength
And frozen blood so red
A scornful smile to an innocent soul
At his feet lies an angel dead

i wonder how jon feels, with all these guys trying to suck him off posthumously  ?
dissection had some good shit, but hopefully people won't go overboard with the r.i.p. sigs and the shout outs and i miss you's every second like dimebag and chuck fans.

yeah thats what im against. Paying respect to someone is one thing but being a suck up is another.
its like, if you dont like someone while they live, dont try to like them just because they die. just pay respect
