The Library of Congress has selected 50 Recordings for long term preservation shitz, and I'd have to say it's is a pretty nifty idea. What would your pick be for an album of such magnitude? What metal album do you think should be chosen (unlikely that any will be, but that's what Hypothetical Games are all about)? Think of the children, the children...! WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN!?!? :dopey:

We can only pick one metal album to represent us forever in a time capsule? I'd say pick the best album from whichever band wins our tournament. You know, it's so definitive. :D :loco:

Otherwise:

Any of those four would define heavy metal for me forever and a day.

Hey do my a favor with that there Powerslave would ya? I have the other 3 and agree that they are all excellent choices, so wink wink nudge nudge say no more I wanna hear the 4th. :D

I'm really not sure what I would pick for metal. Rust in Peace is a definite contender, and for music in general I'd probably go with The White Album. Hmm.

Yeah but I wanna hear Powerslave! :dopey:

Buy it then.

My pick for albums in general would be Hotel California by The Eagles...but as far as Metal albums go...The Number Of The Beast by Iron Maiden. That pretty much defines Heavy Metal in every way possible.

This album would totally freak out future generations. :headbang:

This wouldn't be a bad idea, just because it represents so many sides of metal.

This would probably be my overall pick, just because SO MUCH SHIT is going on with this album that over a decade later I still discover little tidbits I never heard before. UNRULY.

There's another one with some other über-hidden stuff.

This album was so god damn more important than their title track in the formation of metal.

Here's a great one to explain why the human race as we currently know it blew itself up.
