Tomorrow, the famed Northwestern Wildcats set out for another fun-filled day of College Football. Duke are 1-1 so far, and everyone's fave the Wildcats are 0-2. Surely this late start is due to merely binge drinking, and can be cleared up right quick.

GO CATS!!

BWAAHAHAHA!!!

Yeah, a 26-21 victory over Duke. I'm not real sure we should be proud of it, but it'll do.

Wisconsin's looking damn good, man. 4-0...
But just you wait. The Wildcats are getting ready to pounce...

BWAHAHAHA again.

Go! U Northwestern
Words and Music by
Theodore C. Van Etten, '13

Go! U Northwestern!
Break right through that line.
With our colors flying,
We will cheer you all the time,
U! Rah! Rah!
Go U Northwestern
Fight for victory,
Spread far the fame of our fair name
Go Northwestern, win that game!
Go! U Northwestern!
(Whistle)
(Yell) Go! Northwestern Go!
(Whistle)
(Yell) Go! Northwestern Go!
Hit 'em hard!
Hit 'em low!
Go, Northwestern Go!
(Repeat chorus)

Push On Song
Words and Music by Donald G. Robertson, '13

Push On, Northwestern and Go In To Win
Push On, Northwestern and Fight
May word or deed keep you in the lead,
Push on to victory with all your might.

Loyal to you we will always be true,
Push when the game gets hard.
From East to West we know you're the best,
Push on to victory.

Rise Northwestern,
We'll Always Stand By You,
Go Northwestern, We Will Ever Cheer and Sing
For You to Win Northwestern,
Our Hearts Will Ever Yearn
For the Purple Banner Waving High for
Northwestern.

Wisconsin's off this weekend.

And I never knew the school fight song so i always sang this:

On Wisconsin, On Wisconsin
Beer, beer, beer, beer, beeeeeeeer
Beer, beer, beer, beer
Beer, beer, beer, beer
Beer, beer, beer, beer, beeeeeeeer

Beer, beer, beer, beer
Beer, beer, beer, beer
Beer, beer, beer, beer, beeeeeer
BEER! Beer, beer, beer, beer, beer, beer
BEER!
BEER!
BEER!

AMAZING. On two accounts:

1) That you put it all to the On Wisconsin music meter.

2) That it's absolutely true. The only reason I got the words for these is because I looked it up. In the band, we learned the Go U Northwestern one, but only the music to Push On. We just said Push On through the whole thing, much like your beer one. Only the beer one rings more true for me than the push on.

Hm. Wildcats fall again. Well. At least the uniforms are nice.

Wisconsin, however, is now 5-0. Damn, looking good.
And why do teams like Michigan always get ranked higher even though they're 4-1? That makes no sense to me. I would think that should put Wisconsin ahead of Michigan.

October 26th against Purdue. I think it'll be a nice fall-type day, with Halloweenie spirit in the air. Girlfriend's in town, Neko Case show at the Metro the night before, and then early AM boozehoundingtailgating at the game. IT'LL BE A BLASTOMATICBLASTBLAST!!!

Furious Fourth-Quarter Rally By Wildcats Comes Up Short
Northwestern drops close one to Minnesota, 45-42

MINNEAPOLIS - Down 45-21 early in the fourth quarter, Northwestern staged a valiant comeback, only to fall short, 45-42, Thursday night at Minnesota. If the Wildcats had won, it would have been their fourth straight victory at the Metrodome -- all on Gopher homecoming weekends.

Wildcats Derailed By Penn State Running Game
Northwestern loses 49-0, drops fourth straight in Big Ten.

Final Stats

By DAN LEWERENZ
Associated Press Writer

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Larry Johnson ran for a school-record 257 yards and two touchdowns as No. 20 Penn State routed Northwestern 49-0 Saturday.

Johnson broke the school mark of 256 yards, set by Curt Warner against Syracuse on Oct. 17, 1981.

Johnson had 191 yards in the first half, and was stopped for a 1-yard gain on the first play of the third quarter. Two plays later, Johnson went through the middle of the line and sprinted 60 yards up the left sideline to the Northwestern 5. He ran around the left side on the next play for the rushing record and his second touchdown, giving Penn State (5-2, 2-2 Big Ten) a 42-0 lead.

This weekend, however, is HOMECOMING.

And me, my girlfriend, my sister (also an NU alumn), her husband, sister inlaw, her boyfriend, and a pack of colobus monkeys are GOING TO THE GAME. CAN YOU SAY TAILGATE? I'm thinking a 6:30am arrival time at the stadium should be good enough to secure a place for some binge drinking. Game time is 11AM, broadcast on ESPN Plus (which means no one will see it), and I get FREE BEER at the Alumni tent. HOW COOL IS THAT.

Cats are playing against Purdue, who did pretty well against Michigan last weekend (lost 23-21). The Mighty (as in might, like maybe) Cats are now last in the Big Ten Standings, and Purdue are ranked only two teams above, so there could be a chance.

When your opponent's mascot looks like a maniacal railroad worker, anything's possible.

This is what the Purdue band would look like at the game:
