I lied when I said SymX was my most anticipated release. Times Of Grace - Hymn Of A Broken Man is!

I know alot of you guys hate Killswitch Engage, and to be honest I do too to an extent. However, Alive or Just Breathing is one of the most important albums in heavy music to come out this decade. It's not metal sure -- but I do allege that it helped sow the seeds for true metal to become a viable business here in the States. Because of that album, bands like In Flames and Arch Enemy got to where they are today over here and I think that's a big deal considering that 1996-2001 were the hotbed years for nu-metal and pretty much nu-metal only.

But aside from the nostalgia factor that this CD has on me, Jesse Leech is one of my favorite modern vocalists. I'm so stoked that he's working with Adam D again and this CD really is just really really strong. I also think that it can definitely appeal to the ProgPower crowd.

I get it, you're super true. Cool that you earned +2 metal points to the internet truekvlt leaderboard for only listening to metal and telling the world you do so online. I hear certain law firms actually hire if your trve score on the webernets is 9,000 or over! Give 'em hell!

I don't get it. How can you say that KSE is not metal? Especially if you are arguing that it helped popularize bands like In Flames. KSE would not have their sound had it not been for In Flames and the whole "Gothenburg sound" thing. KSE was one of the strongest metal bands to come out of the US last decade. Granted, their albums got more mainstream after Jesse left, but they helped greatly to bring metal back to the forefront of the music industry. To show that it's not just a bunch whiskey-swillin', pot-smokin', Slayer-listenin' long-hairs, like so much of the public had dubbed metal-heads. I think KSE was as important to their decade in metal as, say, Megadeth was to their decade.

All arguing aside, the Times of Grace album is alos one of my most anticipated albums of the year. So far, I love what I hear. It's great to hear Jesse and Adam together again. Can't wait to see them live when they get to Chicago this year!

This album sounds very strong and filled with feeling! I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.I have heard the leaked version and it is amazing!! I have been also enjoying a more of a rock album that scott of anthrax with the vocalist of Every Time I Die. Killer record."The Damned Things" Check it out.

they were becoming more mainstream between the first and second albums. to go from literally 3 sung lines of lyrics to full choruses is a massive step AWAY from the hardcore scene they were a part of to something much bigger. Alive Or Just Breathing is a classic in both metal and hardcore genres.

since we are talking KsE i have to throw in this track from Aftershock which is basically KsE's core writing line-up with Adam's brother on vocals. you can definitely hear what was coming down the line.

I'm also looking forward to this disc. And it's ironic your mention of this release displacing SX as your most anticipated. In 2002, my top two releases were SX and KSE. Very curious to hear what Adam and Jesse do with this project.
