Only a few weeks before the release of the newest Avalon album, members of the band (which has also been referred to as Timo Tolkkis Avalon) have announced that band founder Timo Tolkki has been fired. Lasilla explained that, while there was no bad blood between the two from their Stratovarius days (where Lassila had been fired by Tolkki, despite Lassila being the founder of the band), it was still impossible for the band to be successful with Tolkki at the helm.
Lassila explained that We had originally wanted to release Angels Of The Apocalypse in January to kick off the new year strong. We had some great material recorded, but I showed up at the studio late last year and caught Tolkki eating the master tapes.
