The New York Times has published a book review of the new autobiography of, and aptly titled, Timothy Leary.

I just saw this book in the bookstore yesterday and was interested, and now this startlingly positive review has all but convinced me to pick it up. Check it out, flyboys.

The ideas explored by Leary in much of his works (namely, The Politics of Ecstasy) clearly influenced WD back in the day.

The Seven Tongues of God, for example, is a chapter in That book.

Yeah, which is more of a lament that Leary was persecuted for his ideas. I really like the line where WD says "Tao Te Ching" because it sums up Leary and much of the lyrical explorations of NM too. ( I reckon, anyways).

I would tend to agree, and your thoughts on Seven Tongues... seem fairly accurate. I was just pointing towards the NM and Leary connection has been there since the first album.
