hey guys when throwing a bass drop in how can i go about making it stick out in the mix, even on shitty speakers, ive been reading up on maxxbass, but isnt it like just duplicating the track and eqing the harmonics and mixing to taste? haha i tried that and it failed miserably. i can only hear bass drops on good speakers but i can hear bass drops in other productions on my work speakers which are shitty

thanks

no, it's not the same... and yes, maxxbass is the answer to your question.

*rbass and lo-air work as well

Have yall had any luck adding a bit of distortion on it for making it stick out on smaller speakers? I heard a couple people say they do it, but I haven't had much success on my own with it

I use a compressor to get the initial hit to jump out too. 40ms attack or something, so it thumps and doesn't just go booooooommm
