hehe, sorry you won't be attending, Luz. Want me to take a sign that says LUZ HERE IN TEH SPIRITNESS?

speaking about flying..what is the best airport to travel to and how far is it from the actual festival?

So you're from Stockholm... I heard about cheap flights from Stockholm (or near Stockholm- maybe Nyköping or something? some smaller town south of Stockholm I think...) to Lübeck- try to check that out. From Lübeck it is maybe one hour to Wacken, or two - on the first festival day the traffic is usually bad. I think there are also buss trips directly to the festival from many places in Germany, probably even from Sweden. You can probably find info about this on the Wacken- page.

Cis- the unoffical Katatonia & Bloodbath travel agency :D

Thanks. Yeah there are a lot of bus trips offered from Sweden to Wacken and some of my friends are going that way. But I'm gonna get some sort of mental breakdown by sitting on a bus for 30 hours (or whatever it takes) :p
Hm if I can find out for sure if there's some bus from Hamburg or Lübeck to Wacken I'll probably try and fly there and go that way. Well, thanks again ^^

30 hours from Stockholm to Wacken?!?!?!? I think it shouldn't be more than, let's say, about 12 hours... unless the driver is doing it the swedish style ... :D :D :D
Anyway, I want all you Bloodbath- kids to come to the festival so that our heros will have the best crowd Wacken has ever seen!!!!!!!!! Maybe then they'll decide to play more gigs :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

hehe, well I'm still gonna go totally nuts sitting on a bus. The 6 hour trip to SwedenRock festival last summer almost killed me. I have to try and get to Wacken somehow :p

I suggest you to fly with Ryanair from Sthlm Skavsta to Lübeck.
It´s really cheap if you look for special offers or book in time. I once flought from Lübeck to Italy( Bergamo) with only 20 euros included taxes!
I´ll be flying with Ryanair tooand then hope to get a lift from Cis:D or I´ll go by bus.

Okay. I'll have to check that out for sure. How hard is it to get from Lübeck to Wacken? Are there a lot of buses available? Anyway thanks

I don't know much about those festival busses 'cause I always travel by car... but if you can't find anything I could pick up some of you flying fans at an airport, as I already wrote in the other thread. It'll depend on your arrival time, I don't know yet on which day I'm going to Wacken. I suppose some of my friends will go there too so maybe they can also pick up someone somewhere. But it's too early now, can't promise anything yet....

Is pretty hard..but there are 2 ways:
1. Taking the train/bus but you must go from Lubeck to Hamburg then from Hamburg to Wacken..there aren't bus or train from Lubeck to Wacken..but this way is very very long..it cost about 20 euro if i remember correctly
2. Taking a taxi..with 100 euro (so if you are 4 people 25 euro) you get to Wacken in 1 hour..not very expensive but very fast!
I will be in Wacken this year but I hope to go with car from here..Italy..
Skål!

Okay thanks. I guess I'll have to convince one of my friends with german language skills and take a taxi from Lübeck then, seems like the best solution.

I went with the ryan-air deal last year. Worked out nicely by train, however, this year we'll rent a car. It's a nice thing to have since youre allowed to drive all the way to your tentplace
