Today's sign of the apocalypse

This morning I woken up to the local classic rock radio station only to hear the hosts talk about Conor Obrest of Bright Eyes being the new Dylan and all the crap. Only to play a clip and subsequently laugh about it.

The signs:

-Bright Eyes on classic rock radio
-Bright Eyes in every magazine hipper than People (ie: GQ etc..)
-Bright Eyes is pretty mediocre music, wtg are people on?

I keep hearing about this Bright Eyes business but I've never heard him.

The White Stripes thing came close to causing the apocalypse... fortunatly after Seven Nation Army the whole thing went into spontaneous combustion.

I don't think Bright Eyes or the White Stripes are all that bad. There are far greater evils to battle.

I am not saying this is evil to battle. I actually enjoy the White Stripes a lot, especially the older material and a bunch of bootlegs I have. Bright Eyes are just average stuff, and I don't mind them being in the media, I just don't understand why.

So I heard that Bright Eyes is in the media because the guy is dating Winona Ryder
