Guitarist and composer, Tom Frelek, is set to release his latest album, Rewrite Tomorrow, on March 21, reuniting the powerhouse trio from the acclaimed 2015 Waken Eyes prog-metal project. Joined by virtuoso drummer Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats, Steven Wilson) and bassist Mike Lepond (Symphony X), Frelek delivers a bold 11-track opus – 10 instrumentals and one vocal track – that fuses hard rock grit, metal intensity, and progressive complexity into a sonic world all its own.
Rewrite Tomorrow showcases Frelek’s signature guitar work: leads that sing with melody, shred with precision, and inspire with emotional depth. Drawing from influences as wide-ranging as Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, and Dream Theater, Opeth the album weaves a tapestry of clever compositions and dynamic interplay, inviting listeners to escape into uncharted musical territory. From the soaring riffs of its hard rock core to the intricate twists of its prog-metal soul, this release is a testament to Frelek’s evolution as a boundary-pushing artist.
Born in Poland and raised in Ontario, Canada, Tom brings a global perspective to his craft. Self-taught from age 11, he honed his skills through years of practice and gigging with original and cover bands before breaking through with Waken Eyes’ Exodus in 2015, featuring the same lineup now driving Rewrite Tomorrow. His journey reflects a restless creativity, blending classic rock foundations with modern metal innovation with a prog twist.
“Rewrite Tomorrow is about taking the listener somewhere new,” says Frelek. “It’s a chance to reimagine what’s possible with guitar-driven music—shredding with purpose, singing through every note.”
