MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer Tommy Lee engaged in a Father's Day social media war of words with his son Brandon. The 55-year-old rocker took to Instagram on Sunday to honor his dad, while lamenting what he says were his own failures as a father. "Being a father ain't easy! I'm so tired of the fake shit I keep seeing all over IG... let's get real: It's a rollercoaster ok?" Tommy wrote. "My father taught me to respect everyone and everything and to take care of those that I loved. He taught me to appreciate my possessions, and to be grateful for the things I was given. I've fucked up at times but I've always bounced back." "When I had a child, my first child, I wanted to instill those same virtues into him," Tommy wrote, referring to the 22-year-old Brandon. "Sometimes I feel like I failed as a father, because my kids don't know the value of things. If they break something, they don't care because they know they'll just get a new one, if they hurt someone, they don't care because so many people tell them it's OK. I never wanted this for my kids." Tommy went on to say that he feels he's "not fully to blame," blaming his ex-wife and the mother of his two children, Pamela Anderson, for "enabling bad behavior and buying them things when they weren't good." "I guess I hoped at the end of the day they would end up kind," Tommy continued. " I love them dearly, don't get me wrong, but man, sometimes it's really tough to watch your kids grow up without those morals." "Nothing can really prepare you for fatherhood," Lee concluded. "I love my boys but they can be assholes too...and that's the truth (Cue Honest Guy music)." A short time later, Brandon took to Instagram to share a screenshot of his dad's post along with an accompanying message that appeared to reference the incident in March when he allegedly assaulted his father at Tommy's home in Calabasas, California, "Remember what happened last time you said this shitt? night night," Brandon wrote. "You gotta show up to be a Dad big guy. If you think we're so bad (which I can assure you we are not) then you should have showed up to a few more BDays and baseball games," Brandon continued. " Someone like you couldn't raise a man like me." "Once again painting our family in a negative light. Who the fuck are you? Just move on dude... WE ALL HAVE," he added. "Or I'll put you right back to fuckin sleep." A follow-up post from Brandon was a video of his father, apparently unconscious, in a T-shirt and underwear lying on the floor. Brandon captioned the clip, "Look a little sleepy there Tommy." Tommy's fiancée, Brittany Furlan, makes an appearance in the video, which was apparently shot by Brandon, and was seemingly trying to get the younger Lee to stop filming. Furlan commented on Brandon's post, writing, "Brandon…. This is too much. Your dad loves you and you love your dad. Please stop. Everyone is clearly hurt. Enough is enough." Responding to another commenter, Furlan wrote, "Mind my business? I'm in this video. This is my business. I think people like you who have no idea what's going on need to stop. This family needs peace. Please guys, please." Brandon claimed that he punched Tommy in the face while defending himself during a drunken brawl back in March, but Tommy disputed that account, tweeting: "My fiancée and I were in bed when my son busted into the room and assaulted me. I asked him to leave the house and he knocked me unconscious. He ran away from the police. THAT'S the truth." Representatives for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office, who arrived on the scene soon after the incident, previously told People magazine that Tommy and Brandon had been arguing about a series of tweets and photos Tommy had posted responding to an interview given by Pamela Anderson. During an appearance on Piers Morgan's morning show, Anderson recalled Lee's 1998 arrest for spousal battery, for which he pleaded no contest and spent six months in prison.

Happy Father's Day fellas! I'm not gonna sit here and post some fluffed up bullshit for the public to read.... I'm gonna be honest- Being a father ain't easy! I'm so tired of the fake shit I keep seeing all over IG... let's get real: It's a rollercoaster ok? My father taught me to respect everyone and everything and to take care of those that I loved. He taught me to appreciate my possessions, and to be grateful for the things I was given. I've fucked up at times but I've always bounced back. When I had a child, my first child, I wanted to instill those same virtues into him. Sometimes I feel like I failed as a father, because my kids don't know the value of things. If they break something, they don't care because they know they'll just get a new one, if they hurt someone, they don't care because so many people tell them it's OK. I never wanted this for my kids. I know I'm not fully to blame, because their mom has a lot to do with it, enabling bad behavior and buying them things when they weren't good, but I guess I hoped at the end of the day they would end up kind. I love them dearly, don't get me wrong, but man, sometimes it's really tough to watch your kids grow up without those morals. Nothing can really prepare you for fatherhood ....
