:headbang: Tomorrow it will 34 years Black Sabbath released it's self Titled Album on the unsuspecting public 13/02/1970.............mmm I shall listen to Sabbath all this weekend to honor them .... Who will join me

This album does indeed rule. I love it how stoner bands spend so much money to get their cd's to sound like it, and sabbath spent about 200 bucks.

I wouldn't like to guess. Probably a lot more. But Black Sabbath had no more spent on them than any band that had just been signed to a label. They just happened to have a sound and a style that was unique for the time that struck a chord. If they'd just sounded like the Doors or the Doobie Brothers, they would have gone nowhere, regardless of how much the album cost.

But I digress...

Not bad for a band with a guitarist missing a half a finger - but his moustache makes up for that..

Heaven & Hell is still my fave Black Sabbath album though..

I've always wondered... what would have happened to music as we know it if say instead of releasing what they did, Black Sabbath actually released an album like... hmm, let's say Kill Em All.
That's an interesting speculation Todd, but it can't really be answered. I don't think it would have been possible to make something like 'Kill 'em All' back then, because the musical environment didn't exist.

I don't think anyone in Sabbath would have been able to do anything even remotely close to Meshuggah! But when you think about it, the first Sabbath album was like Meshuggah, because it was something that hadn't been done before. :)
