Poor wording perhaps but it's nowhere near as bad as the context implied by the media beat-up.
I'm more annoyed by the latest flood of scare campaign flyers flooding my mail box over the pending election.
I'm even more annoyed by all the real estate flyers I get flooded with about how Johnny Bumfuck JUST SOLD A PROPERTY IN MY AREA OH MY FUCKING GOD REALLY THAT IS SO INTERESTING!!! Real estate agents are a very thin margin above recruitment agents.

I actually agree with Ferret. On the battlefield, somtimes shit does just happen. He wasn't being insensitive or dismissive at all. What was bad for him was the way he looked like he wanted to punch that reporter out, but in all fairness, if the bloke was from 7 News, I'd want to punch him too. I think Abbott's a clown, but this is just media bullshit.

Don't watch 7 news, 9 news, 10 news , today tonight, ACA, ... and missed the ABC news LAST night so was't aware of what happened until I read it in the paper this morning.

I tried to write a defence of Abbott last night but I couldn't bring myself to do it. Anyone who actually watched the footage would know he didn't mean anything by it. Good to see the ALP sticking up for him.
His reaction was priceless though. Jodie Speers said on Twitter that he was actually silent for 1 minute and 10 seconds but they couldn't show all of it because of time constraints. I've been in that situation where I just couldn't say anything because I was so filled with rage, but it wasn't for that long.
Anyway, I still hate the guy.
