Toontrack - Rock Solid

I'm actually interested. That's the kind of drum sounds I go for. Still sounds realistic but punchy.

EDIT: The sound samples are pretty "meh" for me too but the YouTube video from the studio was pretty awesome sounding.

Jeff, would you care to post a quick example, just one of the midi loops running through whatever is the "best" kit, nothing else?

(the demo's on the sites almost always sound so much better than the actual product)

Sounds like drums that were recorded and then were properly sprinkled with the infamous "Staub Samples" to me, IMVHO, hahahaha

A-Whaaaa? Am I missing out on some good samples out there? Or are they just ripped off one-shots from some of his works? Link?

Yeah I'm a pain in the ass, but dammit I'm interested!

just one shots dude. nothing special at all.... don't even worry about them. Get my death snares and you'll have 10x the amount of useability. =D

and they're old as helllllllll. been floating around BC foreverrrrrrrrrrr. No links though brother, sorry :(

I have never heard or seen of these Staub samples...are we sure there isn't a link? anyone care to share them please?

lol in the first mix I can barely hear the snare. The snare is totally buried with those guitars in the mix. Sounds quite weak, even with only drum. Do not want.

Snare and kick sound ok in the demos on their site, not impressed by the overheads though and the bussing is just silly (all toms in one stereo track etc). Good for making demos but I'd take metal machine instead any day.
