Some albums that were pretty good this year:

14. Iron Maiden - A Matter Of Life And Death
15. Green Carnation - The Acoustic Verses
16. Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion
17. Satyricon - Now, Diabolical

These are all good, some of them even really good, but none of them are downright great.

Also some albums appeared promising on first listen, like Necrophobic "Hrimthursum" and Moonspell "Memorial", but subsequently failed to grow on me and are really nothing more than OK.

My hopes are up for next year, new Porcupine Tree, new Blackfield, new Machine Head, seem all very promising.
