Artist: Torture Killer
Album: Swarm!
Release Date: 2006
Label: Metal Blade
Ive got to admit upon first getting this album I figured we were gonna have an exact clone of Cannibal Corpse on our hands. Definitely not the case and I actually prefer this over Cannibal Corpse and Cryptopsy when it comes to death metal because the vocals are very present and not buried under the music. This is still far from being earth shattering and original and the band realize that. These guys love their death metal and play in the style of Six Feet Under and Obituary. Chris Barnes of Six Feet Under fame actually stepped up as the new vocalist for the band. The main thing I like about this album is the groove that is present throughout the songs. If you are a fan of traditional brutal death metal than you will find things to like about this album. However, if you are looking for something earth shattering and fresh and that has not been done before I would look elsewhere.
