I swear he makes me want to dress nice or something. I need to upgrade my wardrobe. Seriously. I'm going full out suit and ties. Maybe sweeter vest. Good interview though.

For some reason i cant get into these guys. Not taking anything away from his playing cause its phenomenal. Their music is just way to repetitive and cyclical for me.

Funny how Reflux (Tosin's previous band, which i preferred to Animal As Leaders) bass player then became the bass player of Animosity, whose drummer is now playing in Animals as Leaders.

Same, I was listening to their last album today before I went in this thread (which is funny). Can't listen to the whole album before getting tired. Also, the mix is pumping like hell and it's too loud for me.

Can't listen to more than 3 songs in a row, but same goes (for me at least) with Meshuggah / Periphery / all the Sumeriancore stuff / ultra proggy bands...
Each one his own i guess. They're not a bad band (far from it
) but it's not my thing. Nobody can like all the bands out there. But i can see how Animals As Leaders deserve their praise/success.

Yeah I didn't want my post to sound negative towards this band. They are awesome. It's just difficult to listen casualy to them.

I can handle an entire day of Meshuggah and Tesseract, I love them, but Periphery and AAL just can do it. It gets boring for me really fast with both of them. Not to take anything away from any of them, as they are great bands.
Same, I listened to every Meshuggah album in a row in one day without getting bored

I really enjoy Animals as Leaders, but that mix is just simply dreadful. With a different mix, it could have been WAY better

Fixed.
Not saying his mixes are bad, but they sound like Bulb. It would have been nice to not hear a carbon copy of Bulb's style and production. I would like to hear that playing style in a different kind of mix. If that makes any sense.

Absolutely. I think Tosin is highly talented but that mix and production is subpar; almost demo-ish.

Anyway, album is awesome. Production is terrible.
