Yeah there does seem to be a bit of shit on it. Is it reflective of what's been released in the last 10 years?
 
Dark Eternal Night seems an interesting choice for DT and to be so high. I would rate many of their songs/riffs higher, but meh.

Going by most of the other choices I'd say they've tried too hard to make the "we're not just picking the obvious classics by each band" point by instead going for the "we're proving our street cred by actively avoiding any obvious or classic songs by each band but still picking classic bands because we want to still have name-drop appeal".

AC/DC, Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, all songs off newest albums, and none of which I'd consider even amongst the top 10 riffs by the respective bands let alone top 50 ever.

The list is only for the last decade though, which rules out most of those bands material anyway.
