Toy Roboto in space!

That was awesome to watch.

I'm no expert but I'd guess it didn't burst into flames because of the relatively low speed at which it's falling. After all, space objects that enter our atmosphere are travelling at far greater speed and are bigger and heavier.
 
Robot: "I'm in spaaaaaaace!"

Anyways, there was a parachute attached, 'chuting such small object is alot easier that's why it didn't burn down (it couldn't develop proper velocity for this).
 
It's the speed.
Wind resistance creates heat, if you're going faster you get more heat. That thing wasn't going anywhere near fast enough to generate the sort of heat to burn it up. As a matter of fact it was probably very very cold up there!
 
It's really impressive that nowadays we can get high quality footage of the Earth from near-space with a tiny budget.
