TRENT REZNOR Dismisses Reports Of New NINE INCH NAILS Single

One day after word began to spread that a new NINE INCH NAILS single was dropping in September, main man Trent Reznor took to Twitter to offer a two-word response, simply writing, "Not true." Reznor did not offer any further elaboration nor any indications of what he was currently working on. According to The Pulse Of Radio, reports of a new NIN single called "Dive And Slam" began circulating online Wednesday (August 4) after a Reddit user leaked a since-removed image purported to be from Kobalt Music Group's internal database, which listed the release date and title. The same title as also reportedly registered to Reznor's catalog at the ASCAP publishing database. Reznor did indicate late last year that NINE INCH NAILS would return in 2016. The last NIN effort was 2013's "Hesitation Marks", which followed a four-year hiatus during which Reznor concentrated on other projects such as film scoring and the band HOW TO DESTROY ANGELS. Reznor is also chief creative officer for Apple Music and is said to be heavily involved in that platform's impending redesign and relaunch, which will be unveiled this fall.
