Man music is tough, theres a trillion bands out there all saying "check me out" and "we're the best" but none of them seem to have any passion for their art and it shows in their music.

I took a risk, a big loan and bought a studio, taught myself to produce and have spent about a year getting the right sound and making my bands EP.

And i'm having one hell of a hard time getting it noticed, although those that do love it. :heh:

I guess if one of you checks this out and leaves your thoughts maybe others will also.

I promise its well produced, i promise its well written

and tell you what... if you help me out and support this I'll dish out any wanted production or guitar tips!

:kickass:

I'm liking this alot, the orchestral parts are awesome, but i'm not a fan of the guitar sound, even though it's high deffinetly high quality. But there were some cool riffs though.

May i ask how much money you put into the whole project?

i like it alot. may i suggest you get a good vocalist and start playing venues. you will get the attention you want.

Thanks for you replies guys!

The studio i produce with cost me 5 grand, which i got a loan for... so something anyone can do if they want it enough really... however learning to produce at that level was alot of work...

we are recording vocals within the next month... so that should make the songs much more enjoyable.. as for gigs.. well if we get enough interest then yeah we'll do exactly that! although we are swamped with other stuff so i cant prioritise it until we have sufficiant reason!

Yes i am based in basingstoke :) and the studio, although its only small and home based IS available for other bands to use..

I'm glad its better than you were expecting, thats why its so hard to promote a band on myspace.. because 99% of them are LAMEEE

certainely!

Mid-range well pronounced kinda stuff... actually if you check out this band we're using their vocalist.. www.myspace.com/chaosincarcerated

however if i hear anybody else i prefer i could use them, so if you know anybody send them my way :)

I guess it's matter of taste, but i for one hate that kind of angry screaming singing. Good growling for me doesn't sound angry at all.

Its difficult to please everyone when it comes to vocals

I did'nt want "emo" vocals or people complaining that they cant understand what he's saying. To me those kind of vocals dont sound angry either i guess its just a matter of taste :)

plus he's the only good vocalist i have available right now, if you know anybody else in the UK who would better suit this tell them they can audition

Yeah, I agree. I'll be looking forward to hearing it still!

Wow I really expected your band to be bad. But thankfully I was wrong. The music is awesome and when I listened to vocalists other band I was happy to hear that he wasn't some terrible singer. Well i'm excited to see how your EP turns out and good luck.

Thank you unstoppable gore :D

i appreciate that big styley! I was hoping this thread might spread the word a bit... anyone else got tips on how else to do so?

again its tricky because "Wow I really expected your band to be bad."

haha

Go in the big band forums on Ultimate Metal and post it if they have some kind of Off-Topic.

Fucking amazing stuff. Seriously.

I know what you mean about passion and posers too. I take all my stuff truely seriosuly as well, and have always tried hard to get my stuff sounding as amazing as possible. I have also dedicated time and money to recording gear and recording sessions... My fear is sometimes after all the effort I'm tired of the material and I can't appreciate it fully...

but I can honestly say you're on to a winner with this stuff. I think the only problem is the music only seems like samples of what you're capable of. You really need to write an opus with this sound. something longer with a more complex structure, and of course some vocals could rocket this material and would make this stuff extremely marketable.

It sounds like a cross between Disillusion, Meshuggah and Dark Suns. Truly awesome. You using personal orchestra for the strings and brass?

Some more advice... forums... http://rawnervepromotions.co.uk/forum/index.php this forum is based in leeds, but loads of extreme music lovers fro all over the country post on it aswell as lable owners, Promoters and shit loads of bands such as Soulfracture, Reth, Narcosis, Waking Theo, red Stars Parade, Electric Mud Generator, tangaroa, Eborsisk and more. They're all very open minded people and you'll definately find some people who are into your shit there.

Also, http://www.myspace.com/bibms Born in blood promotions. They just get your bands name about and are really cool. basically run by a bunch of guys who are really interested in finding out the full extent of uk's metal scene and sharing it with people who tend to have a blind eye to the decent metal surrounding them. They're official page is http://www.borninblood.co.uk/ which you can sign your band up at. just make a night of going to these forums, chatting shit and hope you can get some noise going in the communities.

hey king chaos :)

i really appreciate your comments, actually i'm using something called east-west symphony orchestra platinum for my orchestral stuff.

although i intend to go over this once vocals are recorded and make it sound more convincing and complex.

I'm checking out both those links you've suggested now, i've been on raw nerve before but ages ago before xerath existed.

As for the music sounding like samples, i totally agree.. thats all they are.. this EP is for the purpose of getting signed only (hopefully)

And if we achieve this, expect to hear 30 minute oddyseys and epic audio adventures which will make you laugh / cry and change your life :)

I'm looking for a vocalist at the moment actually, i have one to do recording but he cant commit as a permanent member..

Does anyone know anyone or want to audition? send demo's to xerath@hotmail.co.uk

Must be based in uk and dedicated as hell

I think you are really well set up for a recording contract as you can basically make music and albums for free (where usually it'd cost the lable alot of money to send a band into the studio). Plus the quality of the material is extremely promising. I just hope you can get a really good vocalist on board.

asides from working on your band's material, do you work with others? for mixing and mastering? if yes, what are your rates?

fucktastic job by the way. very professional sounding.
