Cool... what's that gated-off area with the astronaut and US Flag?

Around 1919 the owner of the land tried to mine for Iron. He got 200 feet down and the water table ruined his attempt. Thats what that is. They gated it off in 1977 or so (around that) because people dumped wrecked airplane parts down in it after a salvage operation. Its 100ftx100ft. The astronaut I dunno about. I DO know NASA used the crater for moon landing training and intends to again.

Sweet pics David... my favorite is the night time shot of the parking garage. Cool lighting. And meteor crater looks rad! I wanna go there someday. Look who else just visited there:

Gojira!

It was taken from inside the room, and took about, oh I dunno, 10 shots to get one or two good ones :P

And I bet they still paid $15 a piece to get in. The guide was probably 10 feet away. No one save NASA, geoscientists, or big production moves get by without being watched.

that looks like such a cool trip!!

STAR TREK EXPLANATION DEMANDED.

They have an exhibit at the Las Vegas Hilton, complete with awesome live action/ride sim experiences.

woo! Meteor Crater is badass. did you see any cows on the road on the way to the crater?

No, they all stayed back. I found it odd.
