Trying to play a DVD on my computer (and failing)

I've tried maybe 5 different players: Windows Media Player, Cyberlink, AVS, Winamp, and a couple others....

....and on all of them, all the sound is detuned by ~1 1/2 semitones! WTF?

CDs don't do this, so why do DVDs? If I was missing any codecs, there would be NO sound or video, right? It wouldn't just be detuned...?

Anyway, once again, WTF??

I have a Fireface 800, btw.
