I'm digging the guitar tone but everything seems very compressed.

There really isn't much compression on anything. There is on the bass, the snare drum, and a parallel compression with the drum bus, but that's it.

Might be the parallel compression that is too loud then. The cymbals pump a bit on the faster kick sections.
