ok, nevermore's playing with gothy type o. will they perhaps play a set heavier on the cooler, less aggro stuff? ya know, heart collector, deconstruction, dnb, learning (yeah, right), in memory type shit?
Go ahead, call me a fag, but while I do love their raging shit, I'm quite bummed that they never mix it up live, not since the dreaming neon black tour anyway. What's my odds here? I don't give a damn about type o and I can get many beers for 22 bucks...

i think the problem is that jeff writes songs off the top of his head and shit

so to play different things he'd have to re-tab it and re-learn it
so they just stick to the basics so it's easier

that's what I think

I went to the Opeth/Porcupine Tree show, which was fantastic and probably the best concert I've attended but now I'm in the mood for heavy stuff.

I dunno -- it could go either way. It's true that they've been playing long enough to recognize the value of a coherent show from one end to the other, and choose songs to that end. By the same token, they are currently touring to support a new album, which would require they play a lot of songs off of that, wouldn't it? I think, clearly, I have no choice but to go and see for myself! :D
