Any UFC fans over here?

Lookin forward to tonight's event. :headbang:

My money's on Lidell and Silva.

There's nobody who can touch Silva at the moment and I think after Rua's last perfomance, with Lidell having a major point to prove, the Iceman will be back.

Heading to the bar to watch this tonight with the lads from work, should be fun! I used to follow it more closely than I have been lately tbh, but Silva is going to destroy as usual and my money is on Shogun, I just like the dude way more than Lidell

I hope one day Dana manages to get Fedor in the UFC, I'd really love to see him wipe the floor with Lesnar and every other UFC heavyweight he hasn't had the change to obliterate...

i would watch it live, but my brother just found out he has appendicitis and i have to go see him right when it starts. I think liddell is going to take the unanimous decision, and i think leites is going to upset silva with a submission win, maybe an arm triangle in the 1st or 2nd round.

lucky for chuck, shogun's about the only guy he has a chance of beating anymore

$5 says dana never again puts him in a cage with a guy who knows how to throw an uppercut...

Nowadays I mostly watch MMA only when one of the Emelianenko brothers are on the fight card.
I used to watch Pride FC regularly for years until UFC owners shut it down by buying it.
Occasionally I do watch UFC, but only when there are some x-pride fighters in the cage.
Long live Fedor!

i was caught offguard by the UFC and ended up falling in love with it at first sight. i think its amazing how these guys can seamlessly and immediately switch from boxing to wrestling to jujitsu back to wrestling to kickboxing and...... damn! thats impressive

i honestly cant watch boxing anymore, i find it boring

Oh dear. Poor Chuck. Looks like it's game over for him. Good fight whilst it lasted though. I think at his age it's his reaction times that are getting him knocked out.

Silva vs Leites, although hardly an exciting fight was pretty interesting.

I feel bad for Lidell - the guy is still great, and he had a huge part in making the sport what it is today. Unfortunately he's now just a step slow and in this sport thats just plain disaster. Don't be surprised if you never see him in the ring again. I think its better this way though - better to go out still loved and on top than to pull Brett Favre after Brett Favre and end up ruining your good name.

Financially it wouldn't be a sound move for the UFC to allow a popular all American hero showman like Lesnar to get his ass kicked by a unassuming subdued Russian.
It's all about ticket and pay-per-view sales at the end of the day and Brock delivers that in spades.

White has skirted around the issue by saying that Fedor isn't the real deal and he got where he is by fighting sub-par opponents, but anyone who manages to dispatch both Sylvia and Arlovski in the first round, and be one of the few people to beat Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira (in fact twice), deserves a little more credit than that. :err:

The glory days of Lidell, Ortiz, Couture, Hughes etc are over. The legends from Pride like Wanderlei Silva and Dan Henderson are struggling to keep up with the new breed. All those blows to the head, injuries and training camps take thier toll, plus the motivation and desire wanes. Shame as they made the sport what it is today.

boring as shit, that anderson silva fight was probally the slowest fight ive ever seen.

pretty much

dude's still a skilled fighter, but it seems like he's slowed down by a split-second...which is the difference between earning a KO and being KO'd in this sport

just look at when he get dropped by evans...when he ate that uppercut, he was in the middle of throwing a huge right hook. chuck's fist was about an inch from evans' cheek when he took that shit on the chin...but again, he's gotten JUST old enough that the other guy's bombs are landing before his nowadays.

Still no formal announcement of retirement from Lidell yet.

Anyhoo UFC98 to look forward to now.

Dear god let Machida give that clown Evans the beating of his life and Serra put Hughes into retirement. :heh::heh::heh:
