GREAT WHITE To Continue Touring With Replacement Guitarist - Feb. 23, 2003

According to the New York Daily News, GREAT WHITE singer Jack Russell is wasting no time in scouting for a replacement for guitarist Ty Longley, who died after a pyrotechnics display got out of control in Rhode Island on Thursday. "I personally would like to express my heartfelt condolences to those families of the loved ones who perished, as well as Ty ... in the tragedy at the Station," Russell said in a web message. "We will continue our tour with a replacement guitarist sometime in the next few days." Russell and an unspecified bandmate were seen catching a flight yesterday out of town, Providence TV stations reported last night.

And do I care how glam fans react to this decision?...Not really...but they are probably the ones who make the decision whether this was a good move by Russel or not...

Horrible tragic accident though...I dedicate "Ways to the Grave" by Bloodbath to all who perished...

It is kind of cold but music is these guys' career and passion in life, they gotta go on, man. It takes alot to go on after all this crap and they have to pay the bills, they have to help pay for the guys funeral. It's Great White, folks, they aren't rollin in dough...

That's funny in a sick way... since it's GREAT WHITE... does anyone care if their tour gets canceled? Should THEY? I don't think so. Funny how the guy thinks that GREAT WHITE is such an important and successful band that they just HAVE to continue their tour. Does he not realize that his band is a joke? A deadly joke, now.

Fuck them, fucking hairband...I feel bad for the poor fucks that decided to go to that show, but fuck that band, they should have all died.

I just wonder who they expect to come see them after burning 100 of their 'fans' to death. Maybe people will go to heckle them and throw trash at them on stage. Their music career is so over, they might as well go back to their day jobs.

Hmm, this seems more appropriate: taken from Blabbermouth

GREAT WHITE Say They Have No Plans To Resume Touring - Feb. 24, 2003
_
GREAT WHITE's management are denying a widely-circulated report that the band are planning on resuming their U.S. tour in the next few days with a replacement guitarist following Thursday night's tragedy in West Warwick, Rhode Island that claimed the lives of 97 people, including GREAT WHITE guitarist Ty Longley. Although stopping short of refuting the authenticity of GW singer Jack Russell's web posting indicating that the band would hit the road again sometime this week, the group's manager has apparently stated that the band are back in Los Angeles and are devastated by the events of last week. "It will take some time for everybody to recover," he reportedly said.

If I owned a venue on their current tour and they decided to continue, I'd get out of the contract thinking that a riot would take place. I'd pay them to not play my club if I had to.

No doubt. We should all pay them not to play anymore. Their music was bad enough in the past, but now their music is not only boring but deadly. But seriously, I know what you're saying. Basically, continuing the tour would be a very bad idea.

BTW I saw you ladies play at Kozmos on Saturday. Fuckin' bad ass.
