Hey guys! Well, I've been a metal fan for as long as I can remember and despite just being nineteen, I love older 80's heavy metal more than contemporary stuff. That said, I'm interested in more underground or less-known bands. Recently I've been checking out acts like Heathen's Rage, Black Knight, Omen, Warlord, Liege Lord, that sort of thing. I don't have a problem with more recent work inspired by 80's bands, like Metal Force (Majesty) either. Thanks!

If you're familiar with Heathen's Rage (great EP <3 ) you probably know a number of these already, but...

Adramelch - Irae Melanox (more melodic and power/progressive but it's a classic)
Brocas Helm - Into Battle, Black Death
Dark Age - S/T
Griffin - Flight of the Griffin
Medieval Steel - S/T
Militia - Regiments of Death, The Sybling (more speed/power)
Taramis - Queen of Thieves (also more on the melodic and progressive side of trad/power)
Zions Abyss - TALES (a bit less raw, maybe more Vicious Rumors or early Dio styled, but still top quality)

Ah, one of my favorite categories!

Some of these may be a little obvious but worth a mention nevertheless... They're also not all strictly traditional "heavy metal", but should fit what you're after.

Cloven Hoof
Slauter Xstroyes
Savage Grace
Manilla Road
Cirith Ungol
Virgin Steele
Tokyo Blade
Loudness
Satan/Pariah/Blind Fury
Hell
Vortex
Sword [Canada]
Stormwitch
Dark Quarterer
Black Hole
Satan's Host
Genocide (Nippon)
Armageddon [US]
Witchfinder General
Sortilège
Evil [Denmark]
Heir Apparent
Crimson Glory

How in the hell did I forget. Two of the greatest USPM albums ever.
May have something to do with the insanely catchy name. :D

They do have some really great stuff for sure. But I gotta admit some of their songs don't sit quite right with me. May just need to give them some more listens.
