Unleashed - Hell`s Unleashed

After 5 years the Swedish legend, Unleashed, is back with a new album. I had the chance to see them at a concert last summer where I noticed the changes but it still seemed promising so I was really eager to hear their new album. But when I finally got it I didn't smile. Normally I understand that ppl are changing, getting older become more mature and I also understand the the re-united bands can't pass by the trends without a word but I think they should be more capable of, at least comparing to what Unleashed offered to us on their new album Hell's Unleashed. I also knew they wouldn't realease another classical album but I really didn't expect this. Seems they didn't know what kind of music they should put onto this album. They should left off half of the fifteen songs and then Hell's Unleashed would be more enjoyable. I don't mind the slower songs, they contain great rhythms, they are catchy and tearing and simple. The best example are the opening 'Don't want to be born' that is straining against our ears just like 'Fly Raven Fly', 'Demons Rejoice', 'Dissection Leftovers' or even 'Burnt Alive'. Of course the songs like the titletrack 'Hell's Unleashed', 'Mrs. Minister'. 'Peace, Piece by Piece' and a few others were made in their old-school vein. And there are a few others I don't know how they found their way onto an Unleashed album. I don't know what to do with the modern sounding 'Joy in the sun' that has a strong hardcore feeling and also Triggerman that sounded like a parody for the first listening. They made a cover from Venom's Black metal, titled 'Death metal' that is an ok song.
The musicians are just as good as they were but otherwise I'm disappointed with the album. Half of the songs on the album hardly reach the average level, they could have really left them out. In Hell's Unleashed case, less is more is so true.
