THREE RECOMMENDATIONS? THIS IS HIGHLY UNORTHODOX! No need to sticky this because I've already done my fair share of recommendations but you can listen to this shit anyway

1. The Moor
2. Axeman
3. Fear Of God
4. Largactyl
5. Drink And Be Merry
6. Spoils Of Victory
7. Arise!
8. Slave
9. The Darkest Hour

Well so this is about half crust punk and half metal, wondrously garagey and with plenty of fuck-off attitude. Pretty fucking innovative for its time really, this is from fucking 1985! and at times it's pretty much thrash metal and sometimes really epic. I know "epic" might not be a word one thinks of as related to punk music but it's really true here. I think AMEBIX must have been a BATHORY influence actually, I hear some Blood Fire Death era BATHORY in here but that might just be me. And how fucking metal are these lyrics?

There's some hard times coming down
There's the smell of revolution on the wind
Well, we're grinding down our axes
Telling tales round the bonfire at night
We will set out with a fire in our hearts
When this darkness gives way to the dawn
In the light we're united as one
For the kingdom of heaven must be taken by storm!

ARISE! GET OFF YOUR KNEES!
STAND UP!

Yeah so anyway, listen to this shit dudes, I know Tully listens to AMEBIX already but not a lot of others I think

I have a feeling Blood Fire Death didn't have a lot of influence in 1985. But yes, Amebix is a great band.

yeah that's a sweet album

i know what you mean erik, "the moor" might as well have been an intro/outro on any of the first three bathory albums

at first I thought it was quite shit but turned out being a lot of fun, with the epic rock n roll attitudes contained therein
