what fascinating travels do you people have planned? besides max & amsterdam, obviously. tis what willed me to make this thread.

for derick and i there will soon be a trip to big bend national park, texas. same state but a world away...where i can watch a black bear fish snakes and dead mexicans out of the river. and hike amongst an almost awkward mixture of desert, grassland, priarie, forest, whatever.

Trips look pretty minimal for me. San Diego in August to see some friends, and east coast in Sept/Oct conceivably. All urban invasions, actually.

i actually wouldn't mind visiting the east coast in october. though it sucks, maryland can be cause quite the pleasant state of mind at that time of the year.

I would love to go to Northern Norway, Western Sweden and Finland, since I didn't make it to any of those places on my trip (which I just remembered I still haven't posted pictures of 4 months later).

I'm going to the norwegian coastline in two weeks and I'll stay there for a week. I hope to see plenty of fjords, mountains and the odd glacier or two.

I might go to Hiroshima in August. Also trying to find out if I can stay in a Buddhist temple for a few days living like a monk. Anyone can do it but I think I might need to speak Japanese.

Heading back to Europe next year; visiting friends in Sweden, seeing some more of Norway and hopefully Finland, Oktoberfest and possibly Wacken. Might stopover for a week in Thailand on the way home. 2009 I'm planning on either doing the 'Australian thing' of working in pubs in Pommyland, or preferably, international teaching in Asia. If all goes to plan, Japan (is this by any chance what you're currently doing, Thanatopsis?).
