Uriah Heep

I would definitly start of with an old best-off album, so you can see the good stuff of their career....Good one to start is the "best-of" with the black cover...

(Almost) everything from Very Heavy (1970) to Return to Fantasy (1975) is godly in my opinion, you can start with Demons and Wizards, Magician's Birthday or Look At Yourself... these are the David Byron years, classic stuff :worship:

Agreed...'Demons and Wizards' & 'Magician's Birthday' are my faves.

I wonder if "Demons and Wizards" the band is in tribute to "Demons and Wizards" the album?

What Fang said :D . Especially "Demons And Wizards" and "Magician's Birthday", those are the tour de force if you like those you probably will like the whole Byron era IMO.

Considering that Hansi is a Uriah Heep fan... maybe ;)

Actually it is. They have stated on some interviews and Blind Guardian did a cover of 'The Wizard', so I'm sure about it :D

I've been starting to get more and more into Heep in recent years. My introduction was the excellent Classic Heep: An Anthology, a 2 CD Best Of. I also have 2 DVDs, Acoustically Driven and The Legend Continues, both of these with their current line up.
Some people are hung up on the "classic" 70's material and refuse to listen to anything else, but their later stuff is pretty good too with exception of their 80's period where they went a bit too pop for my taste.

It just wasn't the same anymore when their main songwriter Ken Hensley left in the early 80's... :/

I have both of those albums on LP, and they are pretty badass. I do think that Uriah Heep has some of the worst album art ever, though.:erk:

No way! they have covers by Roger Dean :worship: and the rest are cool too.

NP: Sweet Savage - 'The Raid'
