Anyone use dfh superior on band recordings?

How do you go about using this without programing and using on drums you recorded. Do you use triggers and just use on snare, kick and toms. Does anyone use on cymbals also and how do you go about that?

Or do you just program what drummer plays after you track him?

Why would you want to use it on band recordings? The general idea is that DFHS is trying to emulate a real drummer, not the other way around.

If DFHS stores its sounds as .wav files then you could easily trigger the drums using Drumagog, which is essentially just standard drum replacement.

I've done it when I needed more control than with Drumagog.
I converted the audio tracks to MIDI using an internal function in Sonar, and then tweaked the velocity of the hits to get the tracks sounding right.
The nice thing is that I can get an overhead and room mic sound for the replaced drums If I want it. Also I can nudge the midi around if some of the kicks are out of time, etc.

I know this is off topic but just wanted to say im sorry to hear about Carl. Thats fuckin terrible.

Yeah, but good luck finding out what exactly those goddamn names mean.

I've got the 2 DFHS kits I like sampled up, going to upload them tonight for everyong.

Be careful going there! I got it in my head that doing that would be okay, but I was promptly bitchslapped back into reality by Rogue from Toontrack....it was a clear breach of the DFHS liscence agreement.
