it would be nice to get to know some
metalheads up there since the
only people i know seem
to live the pop culture
life, and i say fuck

Hey there. Lina and myself are in the DC suburbs of Maryland. I'm a metal head, but Lina is just a poser Anyway, I hope you weren't envisioning a scene or anything, becuase we surely don't have that. Basically we have one club (Jaxx in VA) that gets good metal bands (have seen Opeth, The Haunted, Emperor, Nile, Borknagar, etc.). Occassionally someone like Slayer or Cannibal Corpse will play in DC, but very rarely. There are some good local bands, like Brave (not metal at all, but good) and Garden of Shadows, as well as some relatively well known (but not necissarilly good) bands like Rain Fell Within.

Anyway, welcome to the neighborhood.

heh. anyway, where are you moving to? there's actually at least 5 other people on here from this area, but none of us know each other. i'll let them speak if they want.

Nice to see new metalheads moving to the area.
Jaxx is a decent club for shows. Phantasmagoria was also pretty cool, but they closed down a few years ago.

hey thanks for the nice replies. i agree with you on several
things. i picked up Rain Fell Within - beleive after a
whole year and it just didnt strike me as good
as it used to. i would still like to see them
live. garden of shadows - oracle moon
is still occasionally on my playlist
and would be badass to
watch as well. so,
i appreciate
the welcome
and maybe i 'll run
into you guys at a show
sometime. PS. if you've seen
the pictures on my site, what part
of maryland where those pictures taken?

Does Twisters in Richmond get many metal shows?

I used to go up there from NC a lot for hardcore shows, and saw Entombed there a while ago...but do they get many metal shows?

I've never really payed much attention to Twister's. Its a little too far south for it to be convienient for me to attend. I know they do get some decent bands, but not as frequently as Jaxx I don't think.
