I am sure that whatever Varg releases will be at least decent, but I really don't know if it will match his earlier work.
It won't be. He said it'll be like his old stuff i.e Self-Titled, Filosofem etc.hope it's not another Casio crap...
Why doesn't anybody ever actually look for the answers to their own questions? Varg has already said that any new Burzum material is likely to sound like Filosofem. Several of the songs that were to be found on the ambient albums were written in the same time period as that album, but were synthesized because he had no access to his usual instruments.
I agree with everything written here. Der Tod Wuotans is my favourite track off Hlidskjalf.Yep... and I for one would be very interested to hear his "proper" version of compositions like Der Tod Wuotans off Hlidskjalf.
Imo while Dauði Baldrs was a pretty questionable release (although excusable given it was the first complete ambient one), Hlidskjalf is actually a pretty good record.
What? I don't get why everyone acts like it's a good thing that Varg got / is getting released.
He's a murderous racist asshole. End of.
I could understand you being pleased if you're holding out for the possibility that he'll release more Black Metal albums, but you want to know something? He won't.
In two separate articles on his official site, he completely dismisses any possibility of ever playing Black Metal again. Ever.
In one article he specifically said that guitars were "my pals instruments" and Black Metal was "my pals music" and he wanted to have nothing to do with either ever again
